PALAIS DES GLACES
The Ice Palace is located in a neighborhood - still - popular in the capital, not far from the Place of the Republic. It offers comedy shows and often haunted for years. It is one of the many cafes open in the rue du Faubourg-du-Temple in the nineteenth century. The address was named Bolo Star in 1878, Bijou Concert in 1882. It sings and plays comedy, and then from 1912 the place specializes in film projection. The room was destroyed in 1924 to make place for the Grand Cinema of the Ice Palace. Its façade is covered with mirrors, which is worth its new name. In 1960, the place again hosted concerts. We'll see Nina Simone, for example. From 1980 to 1988, the place is a theater of creation and then converted to the spectacle of humor. Farid Chopel and Gole Marlon, Jean-Marie Bigard, Chevallier and Laspalès, Patrick Timsit, Marc Jolivet, Elie and Dieudonné, Gad Elmaleh… have been concocted by Jean-Pierre Bigard, Jean-Marie's brother since 2002. There are two rooms here: a large five hundred seats and a small ninety seats.
