HOTEL LE MAREUIL * * * *
Quiet and airy hotel in a quiet street with bright rooms, some with balconies overlooking the street.
In former French "mareuil" meaning "grande clairière," which characterizes this hotel: it is a quiet and airy place, a haven of peace in a quiet street, away from the hustles and bustle of the city. The rooms with bright walls and a contemporary decor punctuated by bright colors are very pleasant to live. They feature NightCove lamps which favours the recovery thanks to sound and light stimuli. Some have small balconies overlooking the street.

I never seen hotel where manager is so nice. He made me feel great
The room was pleasant and the toilet floor somehow kinda cheeky. They dont have a complete set of amenities like toothbrush and all, but i think that is usual for europe hotels.
Bed is comfortable, and tv has a lot of channels, but too bad because we didnt spend much time in the room. However, I am sooo not keen with the carpet. I literally wearing the hotel slippers all the time. Even though the carpet is looked taken care of, but was a bit deterioriate over time e.g. stains from previous guests. Perhaps i should have book upgraded room.
Or if the management to consider renovation in the future, they can opt for wooden floors instead of carpet because the later can be costlier to maintain.
My 5 stars go all the way to the staff handling our check in. I am sorry that i forgot his name (maybe Kareem, or Hasim.. lol), but i remember he wore 'English' tag. Thanks a lot for setting initial positive and happy vibe when we arrived here. The check in was like being customized for each guests.
Location wise is good. But to new tourist, do note that there are 2 Oberkampf stations where serve line 5 and 9. We did mistake few times to only see the difference afterwards.
The rooms were very clean and well serviced. A few things which would be nice is some bar snacks and a nicer coffee (NestCafe Blend 43 is a bit ordinary for a hotel of this callibre!). The little seat in the room was a nice touch and I would sit in that most mornings ready my book in front of the window overlooking the street.
The daily buffet was good. A huge range of foods. Although I didn't use it every day, I did enjoy it on the days I did go.
The location was very handy being super close to Place de la République, trains and shops. It's also an easy walk down to the Seine, Louvre, Notre Dame etc (which I did almost every day). There's plenty of great places to eat and drink, and lots to see.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back when I return for my next trip to Paris!
Thanks for having me!
