Every child is potentially able to have spontaneous musical activity. The Intermusicale Academy in Paris offers a musical awakening where groups of children consist of: 1 to 2 years old, nursery nursery; between 3 and 4 years, music garden; for 5 years, musical initiation; from 6 to 7 years, éveil transition/theory. During the course of the 3 and 4 year-old musical garden classes, the child deepens hearing recognition - which leads him to enrich the acquisition of the spoken language - and develops his sense of the pulse, clarifies his temporal perceptions and strengthens his memory by taking ownership of the dances, nursery rhymes and songs of French and universal heritage. Then, for the 5 to 6 years, comes the time of musical initiation. The practice of voice and melodic and rhythmic instruments will lead the child to integrate simple notions of language and musical writing. Poetry, musical games and instrument presentations are elements that will help him to choose his own instrument by himself.
