SECOURS CATHOLIQUE - DÉLÉGATION DE PARIS
Secours Catholique, an association of volunteers as its founder Mgr Rodhain wanted, fights against all forms of poverty and exclusion, and seeks to promote solidarity among all. It is a service of the Church, recognized as a public service, which develops many actions in favour of vulnerable groups: homeless, migrants, indigent detainees, job seekers, families in precarious situations, children and young people in difficulty, Travellers... Through its action with the public authorities, Secours catholique participates in the evolution of regulations and policies put in place to curb the phenomena of poverty. It develops actions of solidarity with migrants, by carrying out administrative procedures for them, by creating literacy or speech groups. In addition, the association supports the under-housed in their re-housing initiatives and creates street shelters for the homeless, as well as living spaces or workshops. Its volunteers also visit prisoners, provide educational support for children and young people (school monitoring, cultural outings, holidays, vocational guidance)..
