AISTHESIS
Jérôme Cordier has been in the Viaduc des Arts for almost 20 years. Its workshop creates, manufactures and restores furniture and objects of art. In recognition of its rare know-how, this cabinetmaker received the Living Heritage Label in 2006. It uses rare and precious materials: the chipstick, above all, this irradiated, round-grain, round-grain skin; the parchment, which is made of animal skin to which various treatments are subjected; the nacre, which is the lining lining the inner wall of certain shells; the horn (the beef horn used in the marquetry and cabinetmaking works); mica, glittering mineral from quartz and granite; and finally the bone, this "piece of frame" which the patient assembles by nature is the skeleton of vertebrates. It may belong in small pieces to a marquetry work, but it is also entirely possible that it covers and decorates the entire furniture, Aisthésis working mainly the beef bone in its creations. With esoteric and biotic sensitivity, Aisthésis furniture is called Galabriel or Abigael… Very mean! The bill is very high-end, and customers are of great prestige, often from the US or the Middle East.
