BLUE ENERGY
Blue Energy is an association for community projects related to the development of renewable energy in the United States, Nicaragua and France. The equipment installed by BlueEnergy is based on a hybrid mix of solar and wind energy. Their action in Nicaragua responds to a real need. Thus, over the Caribbean Coast, more than 75% per cent of the population did not have access to electricity, while electrification in the country did not exceed 25% per cent in 2013.
What do they propose ? The association offers trips from 1 to 12 weeks, and volunteer missions from 3 to 6 months. Their needs: energy, water and environment specialists to participate in the manufacture of water filters, boreholes and renewable energy installations; people with a social fibre and pedagogues to work with people; persons who are competent in communication, management, compatibility or information technology for monitoring and reporting.

Prices and conditions. Registration and hospitality expenses for 1 week: 1 100 €. Accommodation fees per additional week: 420 €. These costs include on-site accommodation (bed, cover, internet connection), but include neither air transport nor visa fees (USD 10) or vaccination. Proficiency in Spanish or English is appreciated and an interest in renewable energy.
