Chinese restaurant in Paris serving trays of egg rolls, flavoured raw vegetables, and tasty Laotian specialties.
Do and Ken Siackhasone, two brothers with Laotian-Vietnamese origins, want to make known the cuisine of their country by adding the specialties of their close Thai and Chinese neighbours. They were already preceded in this adventure by another member of the family: Lane. A stylish atmosphere that has nothing to do with kitsch Chinese restaurants, especially on the first floor where flat-screen televisions broadcast shows on Asian cuisine, small boxes for four, white porcelain on the tables. At lunch, you can be satisfied with the trays consisting of vegetable spring rolls, scented salad, white rice and soup with coconut milk, but it misses especially the Laotian specialties. The spicy soup, shrimp and lemongrass, immediately excites the taste buds. The crunchy rice salad with its chopped pig and coriander to be rolled in lettuce leaves is a beautiful and amusing gastronomic adventure. Roasted duck in red curry, basil and tamarind sauce are delicious. For dessert, the black rice with coconut side marks the final point. Attention, if it is just opposite, in Lao Lane Xang 1, it is a little more rustic but also very good.
