The formula of L'Essentiel consists of three points. First, an efficient lunch menu with pure and simple bistro format: head cheese, pork loin, beef tartare (top), with homemade French fries and salad... Here, the dishes are simple, and in a word perfectly enjoyable. Then, a menu a slightly more gastro (but not too much!), always with this simplicity that highlights the seasonal and local products. The least that we can say is that this formula works very well, since from the bar to the dining room, via the back community table and the terrace in fine weather, all seats are taken by force with each service. That is not surprising as we know that this Essentiel is controlled by Olivier Gasain, the owner of Villaret, partnered with Rudi Marton, two great professionals on this niche. A must.

Zelf vond ik de gerechten smakelijk, maar ook een beetje vreemde combinaties. Maar goed, smaken verschillen.
Positief waren de porties die voldoende vullen, dus je hoeft niet met honger naar huis.
Grote minpunt was toch wel dat de rook uit de serre naar binnen kwam. Als niet roker is dit zeker niet fijn!
Magnifique rapport qualité/prix ... : un menu du jour avec : entrée, plat et dessert pour 18 euros !!! C est simple et c est BON ... Service et accueil souriant ???? et toujours ce cadre "indus" chaleureux
