YOOMA URBAN LODGE * * *
3 star hotel in a former bank headquarters with nicely decorated double rooms, a restaurant with local products.
When Ora-Ito and Daniel Buren together design a hotel, we wonder what the result will be… The answer is in the Yomma Urban Lodge. If the interior is not Ora-Ito's first try, Daniel Buren innovates for the exterior that he has transformed into a true work of art in a glass and blue checkered steel mixture and of course the famous white and black stripes. In this former bank seat of the 1970s, they imagined an innovative concept and design that offers night spaces for two to six people with intimate common areas. The double rooms are not very large, but their decor is pretty and you can even open the door with an application downloaded on smartphone. The advantage, they are capsules with digital connection imagined by Ora Ito where you can quietly isolate yourself. Even children can be separated from their parents thanks to removable walls. Some will say it is a youth hostel. Absolutely not. It's a room rental and the establishment is a true three star with all the services that this category offers. A lobby-bar-lounge displays a fingerfood and drinks menu for a snack or to drink a cocktail all day long. The restaurant uses seasonal products and vegetables grown in an open garden of 1,000 m2 and cooking classes are organized on-site. Art also has its place because the studios are open for six months to contemporary artists in residence.
