DÔME DE PARIS (PALAIS DES SPORTS)
It was the first major modular room in the capital, before Le Zenith and SAUMUR. Opened in 1960, the Palais des Sports has hosted important events in boxing, for example, as well as the performances of Harlem Globe-trotters. This arena-shaped space that can receive between two thousand and four hundred and four hundred spectators has also made itself known by giving to see and hear the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Johnny Hallyday… and also by allowing king-size performances such as those of Robert Hossein. This is also where Maurice Béjart, Roland Petit, Rudolf Noureev, musicals such as Les Misérables and where the Holiday On Ice or Cirque de Moscow troops took place. Much less funny: the Palais des Sports was requisitioned, along with the Coubertin stadium, for the settlement of Algerian nationals who were arrested on the terrible night of 17 October 1961. Some laubmaier. Today, large-scale musicals and comics take place in this palace that has aged but resists…
