The association Culture et Bibliothèques pour Tous operates in Paris and its neighbouring departments in nearly thirty neighbourhood libraries, fifteen hospital libraries and the library of the Maison d'arrêt de la Santé. These places, run by volunteers, provide a personalised welcome and reading advice for all, regardless of the person's age. They also offer a "story time" for children, a home delivery service, and organize events (authors' meetings, literary cafés, sales outlets, exhibitions). Motivation, regularity, listening, team spirit and initiative are the qualities required of volunteers. The association's reception in Paris is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:30.
