The Mirabeau Bridge, featuring four groups sculpted by Jean-Antoine Injalbert and made famous by Apollinaire's verses.
This 1890s bridge features four sculpted groups by Jean-Antoine Injalbert on its piers. They depict the prows and sterns of boats, surmounted by figures on either side of the structure, allegories of the City of Paris (prow), Navigation (stern), Abundance (prow) and Commerce (stern). The building was made famous by Apollinaire's verses: "Sous le pont Mirabeau coule la Seine / Et nos amours/ Faut-il qu'il m'en souvienne / La joie venait toujours après la peine / Vienne la nuit sonne l'heure / Les jours s'en vont je demeure...".
