BOIS DE BOULOGNE
The Bois de Boulogne acts as the left lung of the capital (the right one, the one further east, being the Bois de Vincennes) by offering runners a fabulous playground between lakes and undergrowth. Occupied by the Jardin d'Acclimatation to the north, the Parc de Bagatelle in the center, and the Fondation Louis Vuitton to the north, it also has a lower lake that is easy and fast to walk around. The Paris Marathon crosses it every year. One should avoid running there at night, as the activities there are of a different nature - and the wood is also very poorly lit.
