The history of TFF began in the th century under the name "Union of French Athletic Sports Societies" (USFSA) and was created by a Lawn tennis Club Commission. In 1920, it took the name of the French Federation of Lawn Tennis and then abandoned its English termination half a century later. Its mission is to promote, develop and supervise tennis in clubs, teaching, training, individual competition and teams and the French championships. Similarly, the French Tennis Federation ensures France's Representation through the commitment of the teams of France in international meetings such as the Davis Cup and the Olympic Games, and the organisation of major tournaments such as Roland Garros and the BNP Paribas Masters. This association alone comprises more than 1 500 000 licensees and 7 800 clubs across the region.
