Garden laid out in the Second Empire, on the site of a large ball organized in the 1770s and copied from that of the Lord Ranelagh
This garden, open 24 hours a day, was laid out during the Second Empire, on the site of a grand ball organized in the 1770s and copied from the Lord Ranelagh ball held in London. It was so successful that the name of this Irish nobleman has endured through the centuries. Among the statues in the garden, one is particularly noteworthy, that of Jean de La Fontaine with his famous characters, the fox and the raven, the work of Charles Corréia (1984). Centuries-old trees are among the treasures of the garden, which is divided into three distinct parts.
