MARCHÉ GROS-LA-FONTAINE
A real neighbourhood market on Gros and La Fontaine streets, near the Maison de la radio. The prices are quite high and the aisles narrow, where "trolleys" and pushchairs are not welcome. The star of the show has long been Joël Thiébault, a market gardener in the Yvelines. He grew hundreds of varieties of vegetables and herbs and supplied great chefs (Pierre Gagnaire, Hélène Darroze...). Also present, stands of Portuguese and Lebanese specialities. It's a nice place, very colourful. Not far from the Trocadero(so chic to go for a drink afterwards), this market, until now frequented only by locals, is starting to welcome tourists.
