La Maison de Charly resembles a riad in the heart of Paris, a large traditional Moroccan residence with its various lounges and palm trees, which cool the large dining room topped by a glass roof. It's also a family home, in existence since 1964: Claude Driguès, a pied-noir from Algeria, took over this address to offer the best of his country's cuisine. Michaella and Melvin are following in their footsteps. Many starters, including the famous harira, the Moroccan national soup, briourat, a small sheet of brick pastry filled to the chef's taste, small lamb kefta or finally a méchouia salad (with red bell pepper). Next, choose from couscous (lamb or chicken), tajines (lamb confit with eggplant or prunes and apricots, or fish balls), pastillas, tangia - ten-hour lamb with fifteen spices - or even a grilled Mediterranean wolf. You must try the bowl of loubia (white beans spiced to perfection). Bread, pastries and sorbets are all homemade. A slight preference for the pastilla au lait, one of the chef's specialties, or Charly's desserts, an assortment of homemade pastries.
