Created in 1992, UNASP federates 70 ASPs (associations for the support and development of palliative care) over a large part of the country and in the DOM/TOM. It conducts or participates in awareness-raising activities with the public, the medical world and institutions. It coordinates the external representation of member associations, particularly with the public authorities, the National Health Insurance Fund for Salaried Workers and the French Society for Support and Palliative Care (SFAP). It helps associations in creation and those who wish to join it. It supports their action by sharing information, resources and know-how. Finally, UNASP develops and implements training courses for people likely to create a palliative care association or to run its structures.
