Japanese restaurant in Paris offering sushi, sashimi, meat and family dishes.
A real Japanese restaurant run by the Sunasawa mother and daughter who really cook as they were taught in their country. On the menu, sushi and sashimi of course, but you have to go further: the small seaweed and spinach salads with egg custard are a great discovery, the breaded pork is excellent, as are the particularly light tempura, with shrimp, vegetable or pork, the udon bowl is more than generous and the well flavoured broth. Sukiyakis and butasyabus, small cast iron pots with wooden lids, contain recipes that range from fondue to stew. An azuki jelly (Japanese red bean) can put an end to this family-friendly parade of dishes. The decoration is very Zen, with a clear penchant for yin and yang, only a few drawings of Japanese landscapes adds an immaculate whiteness to the walls. It's very trendy and yet intimate.
