Establishment with terrace and interior patio offering traditional French cuisine, all the great classics.
Set on the Montmartre hill, La Mère Catherine is part of the decor. Since its creation, this establishment, opened in 1793, has seen many regulars and tourists from around the world who enter this bistro on the traces of Danton. You must have understood that you are in a Montmartre institution. Here, you will enjoy a traditional French cuisine in a rustic setting with checkered tablecloths and ancient paintings. All the classics are waiting for you; from the homemade onion soup with gratin to the stuffed suckling pig. Green apple and avocado tartare with langoustines, egg cocotte with foie gras, whole roasted sea bass with fennel, duck breast with spices and sarladaises potatoes - just reading the menu whets our appetite. For the dessert, you can have flambéed banana and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, homemade tart tatin and fresh cream and homemade creme brulee with vanilla, all of these in a warm and often musical atmosphere... On sunny days, the terrace on the place du Tertre is very lively, but the indoor "patio" is also very pleasant. It is a good place to stay in Montmartre that has not been affected by time... When tradition and history meet, it is at La Mère Catherine that they talk.
