BEST WESTERN PLUS HOTEL LE 18 * * * *
Hotel composed of two buildings housing a lounge with a bar and Chesterfield sofas, and rooms with original decor.
Thomas Chaumette - son of the famous actor François Chaumette - was born in the neighbourhood and dreamed of opening an intimate hotel there so that each guest could feel a little at home. He succeeded in his bet by creating what he conceived as a place to live. The hotel is composed of two buildings separated by an inner courtyard covered by a black steel verandah that recalls the work of Gustave Eiffel. It is a skylight where you have breakfast. Another originality: the Salon. It houses a bar and above all a huge cashmere-style Chesterfield, 10 m long. The rooms, 14 of which have a view of the Sacred Heart, are decorated in an original way. The carpet, designed by the owner of the premises, bears very Parisian champagne-coloured symbols on a black background: the Sacré-Cœur, the Eiffel Tower, the Moulin Rouge, the silhouette of a couple à la Doisneau, an amazing 888, etc. The materials used are warm, like the wooded coverings on the walls. The bedding has been particularly well cared for, particularly the mattresses with exceptional comfort designed specifically for the hotel

We booked this hotel for the Paris Olympics in August 2024. We made the reservation in good time, in February 2023. The price was 298 Euros per night with free cancellation until 22 July 2024. No deposit was required.
Suddenly, in October 2023 (8 months after the booking) we received an email cancelling our reservation without explanation. When we objected. the hotel claimed that the guarantee we had provided (credit card) was invalid. Knowing this was not true, we objected and asked the hotel to provide evidence of this, which they failed to do. The hotel accidentally sent us an internal email showing that this did not only happen to us but also to other guests.
Our room was subsequently advertised on the hotel's website at a much higher price and only available as a non-refundable booking. Clearly, the hotel decided to cancel all early bookings for the Olympics regardless of the costs to the guests. It is now much more difficult and expensive to find accommodation for this period.
