The Librairie des Abbesses deserves its location on the Butte Montmartre. Where many artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh and Satie have pushed back the boundaries of convention, this establishment supports independent authors and keeps away from the star authors who are victims of fashion. The bookshop also awards a writing grant through the Wepler Fondation La Poste Prize, which has been recognising the talent of unclassifiable authors since 1998. Proud to be an independent bookshop, the establishment is a must for readers in the neighbourhood.

Lorsque j'ai demandé si la libraire pouvait emballer ds du papier cadeau les 4 livres achetés, elle m'a savamment fait poireauter 10 min sans raison. Elle a emballé avec tel dégoût que je ne peux pas offrir les livres dans cet état là . Si seulement elle avait donné le papier à plier chez soi....
Je voulais faire travailler une librairie de proximité. Bien mal m'en a pris !
