CHAMPIONNET SPORT (SECTION TAI CHI CHUAN)
Stress, daily pressure, surbooké agenda… Parisian life has turned you into a ball of nerves and looking for calm and serenity? The Tai chi chuan section of the Championnet sports centre gives you an arm! Located just steps from Montmartre Butte, one of the most charming and romantic districts of the capital, the club, affiliated with the French Federation Wu Shu (F.F.W.), was founded in 1998 by Gérard Cypress and is very successful, bringing together nearly 100 members from 30 to 60 years of age with a majority of women. The courses last one hour and follow the Chen method, the oldest and most martial of the tai chi chuan. In fact, the practice of arms (sword, sword and lance) occupies a central place in education. Like Tao Lu, the study of the form that is characterized by slow movements against imaginary adversaries. Thus, it is an ideal blend of internal martial art (oriented toward meditation) and external martial art (to combat). To go further, the club organizes every month themed courses for two days to discover a new technique or to deepen its achievements.
