AGIRABCD
L'Association Générale des Intervenants Retraités - Actions de Bénévoles pour la Coopération et le Développement (Agir ABCD) is translated as the General Association of Retired Stakeholders - Volunteer Actions for Cooperation and Development (Association Générale des Intervenants Retraités - Actions de Bénévoles pour la Coopération et le Développement). Created in 1983 at the time when the early retirement scheme was being developed, it has been recognised as being of public utility since August 1990 and approved by the Ministries of National Education, Health, Youth and Sports, Foreign Affairs and Justice since March 2008. AGIRabcd provides help, accompaniment and support to all those who express their needs, in accordance with its charter. Present throughout France, it forges partnerships with local actors: local authorities, administrations, associations and companies. It has more than 120 sites, 56 departmental delegations, 64 branches and more than 3,000 active members who work daily to promote the social and professional integration of the beneficiaries of its actions. Its main vocation is to fight against all forms of exclusion through education (learning French and foreign languages, combating illiteracy, tutoring in all subjects, initiation to computers and the Internet), for employment (help with professional integration through support, help with job search techniques and support for people in difficulty, assistance with the highway code read and understood, assistance to project leaders for the creation of micro-enterprises), for social integration (discovering institutions and learning to respect the living environment for young people with no reference points and first-time offenders, raising awareness of young people and senior citizens about road risks, listening, support and help with the reintegration of isolated senior citizens, help with access to complementary health care, help with managing family budgets).
