THE MONTMARTRE HILLTOP
The Butte Montmartre, the site chosen for the installation of the Garde NatioNale cannons in Paris.
Its name alone is world-famous: Montmartre! Visible from afar, the 130-metre-high hill and its basilica dominate Paris. A visit to the Montmartre hilltop will take you well over a day: in addition to the tourist attractions (Place du Tertre, Abbesses...), we recommend you wander - if possible outside the tourist season - through its narrow streets, not forgetting those to the north of the hill, which are less frequented. Beautiful buildings and history around every corner make this a must-see area of the capital, for an hour or a day.
