Asian fusion canteen in Paris offering a fresh, sensitive and excellent cuisine.
It used to be a small Asian restaurant and all that's left is the name! Because Cheval d'Or experienced a real revolution last spring. Who are the initiators? Taku Sekine and Florent Ciccoli who, after hard work, have decided to make the place a must when it comes to Asian fusion canteen. The simple and not very clean furniture was replaced by the parquet floor, the stones and the open kitchen. The cuisine is certainly audacious: lemongrass shells, asparagus and sesame cream, fish carpaccio: freshness, sensitivity, excellence. Logically, upscale goes hand in hand with an increase in price. But frankly, the experience is worth a visit. Finally be careful when you come from the park of La Villette, do not consider that, located in the street of the same name, you will quickly reach the restaurant. It is better to take the subway so as not to walk a lot!

Finding a gem within the wave of hotspots in Paris can be challenging. As someone who has tested most of the ‘farm to table’ restaurants, lots of trendy restaurants on the scene now all the same promise, but very few succeed in actually delivering something new and refreshing. Often they are trendy, well designed but the flavours are lacking, plates are costly yet you wonder why it’s always packed with the same people.
But my experience at Cheval D’Or exceeded my expectations! We decided to lean in blindly with the carte blanche and didn’t even read the menu. Plus we let them recommend the wine and trusted the staff completely.
Every stage had Innovative reinventions of asian classics, refined (and complex) flavours and cozy ambiance. I loved that all the dishes (and their presentations) were an experience in itself! Hats off to the reinvented pavlova with lychee ice. Innovative.
Defo deserves a Michelin Star soon.
