This barge has been well moored in the Parisian musical landscape. Since 1982, the team led by Mireille Larroche has approached lyrical art with imagination, using its space of two hundred places to establish a warm contact between the public and small formations of singers, actors and musicians. It creates and recreates rare works, covering the entire scope of the repertoire, and using contemporary composers. The Barge Opera became a national lyric company in 1998. Shows for the young public are in the programme, as are training sessions and training sessions.
