Trendy place located near the headquarters of the French Communist Party in Paris, a site full of history, to discover.
A crossroads divided between the 10 th and 19 th boroughs, this place is located at the location of the old Saint Louis barrier of the General Farmers Wall. Nearby you have the Canal Saint-Martin (west) and park des Buttes-Chaumont (east). It bears the name of a Communist activist who was an important member of the Resistance during the Occupation. To the east you can see the seat of the Communist Party of France; under the dome that emerges from the ground is the room of its Central Committee. This building is the work of the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. It dates back to 1971 but was completed in 1980. However, this place hides a very morbid past, since before becoming a trendy neighborhood, it was the location of the Gallows gallows!
