PLACE DU COLONEL-FABIEN
A trendy square close to the headquarters of the French Communist Party in Paris, a site steeped in history, waiting to be discovered.
A crossroads between the 10th and 19th arrondissements, this square is located on the site of the former Saint-Louis barrier on the Fermiers généraux wall. Nearby, you'll find the Canal Saint-Martin and the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. It bears the name of a communist militant who was a key member of the Resistance during the Occupation. To the east of the square you can see the headquarters of the French Communist Party; beneath the dome that emerges from the ground is its Central Committee room. The building was designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.
