DECLERCQ PASSEMENTIERS
For seven generations, the family business, Declercq Passementiers, has maintained an exceptional art form: high-end trimmings. Its know-how of excellence has enabled it to obtain the Entreprise du patrimoine vivant label.
History. It all began in 1852 in the heart of Paris - at 34 rue Quincampoix - with Joseph Bertaud and a very small trimming factory. His daughter, Marie-Louise Bertaud, succeeded him and married Ernest Perret. In 1900, the workshop moved to rue Saint-Sauveur.
In 1930, to face the crisis, Gaston Perret was the first to manufacture the small steering wheel that would replace the trimmings for several years, thus creating "La Passementerie Nouvelle". His daughter Jacqueline Perret-Declercq began working with him in 1948, then took over the management of the company in collaboration with her son Claude.
In 1971, La Passementerie Nouvelle moved to rue Etienne Marcel, and in 1972 bought the 18th century house of Louvet & Mauny, then, in 1977, the prestigious André Boudin house, renowned for having made the most beautiful trimmings in the world during the first half of the 20th century. Claude Declercq gave the company a major boost by developing the Montreuil-aux-Lions and international workshops.
Jérôme and Elisa joined their father in 1980 and 1990 in the family home, which became Declercq Passementiers in 1996.
To enrich the offer, the Declercq Tissus branch was launched in 2014, offering original in-house creations and the distribution of fine brands such as Soieries Jean Roze.
