On 4 November 1926, the Hollandsche Eenheidsprijzen Maatschappij Amsterdam (the unique Amsterdam Prize Society), in other words H.E.M.A., opened its first store in Amsterdam. It was then a single price trade: 10, 25 and 50 cents. Two years later, the brand already had ten stores. Starting in 1958, the opening rate of new branches would accelerate, with a view to opening a store in every major city. Currently, there are 500 stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Germany. What has attracted consumers is that from the outset, HEMA has been synonymous with simplicity, clarity, quality and honesty. The articles sold by HEMA relate to baby and child, home and decoration, food and kitchen, office, leisure, bedtime, bath, beauty, articles for Her, articles for Him, a service dedicated to the photo… The Dutch claw opened its first Paris shop in 2010.
