Restaurant offering German and Austrian pastries.

Gerhard Weber comes from a family of bakers. His wife Sylvie grew up in the Viennese pastry shop, founded in 1956 in Paris in the 16th and first Parisian establishment to offer German and Austrian pastries. These two people meet in the shop.... They took over the family business, created the Stübli rue Poncelet and then dropped everything for a sabbatical year before inventing a new concept, the snack'issime, which they set up in their new address, Le Stube. Through authentic savoury and sweet recipes from across the Rhine, the chef revisits the standards such as Currywurst, a sausage speciality served as a bite-size and topped with a curry sauce, an integral part of the Berlin Imbiss (on the go) culture, presented here in a pure beef and poached version. On the menu are salted or sweet strudels, a sweet sauerkraut topped with sausage, kassler and potatoes, compositions, salads, etc. As a dessert, you can enjoy classic dishes such as Black Forest, Viennese Chocolate or Käsesahne, a cottage cheese with whipped cream and raspberries. Sublime... Everything is worked with finesse and no dish is greasy or heavy. In the evening, the snack bar is transformed into a restaurant, the service at the counter is served at the table, the recyclable dishes are replaced by plates and glasses. Within the Goethe Institut, a Mecca of German culture, Le Stube is available as a takeaway kiosk to take away and enjoy on site: hot dogs, strudel, poached beef sausage... Possibility to book a table for dinner at Le Stube between 6:30pm and 9:30pm from Tuesday to Saturday on the website and on Facebook.

Small german bakery with really nice breads and traditional german cakes but the kitchen could do better. I had the Wiener Schnitzel and it came accompanied by a lentil salad, roasted potatoes, a lettuce salad and two types of german mustard, a normal one and a sweet one which is typically served with a special kind of white sausage Bavaria, not with a schnitzel. Talking about the schnitzel, the star of the dish, i was waiting for that amazing crispy crust on the outside and I was disappointed because it was very soggy and oily. The taste was good but half of the schnitzel experience is the crust in my opinion. Hope to come back soon to sample all their desserts
