COMPTOIR MONTEVIDEO
Uruguayan hotel-restaurant in Paris preparing a menu of homemade dishes, empanadas, burger and meat.
Paris, a global city, has even an Uruguayan restaurant. And we know the trade here: The boss's parents had a hotel-restaurant and very early he followed his mother's career. Very few dishes on the à la carte menu because everything is homemade and prepared on a daily basis: a very good cod ceviche with citrus fruit and coconut milk. The empanadas and their chimichurri sauce, just what is needed, has delighted us. The chivito steak burger convinces naysayers to burger. The meat is perfect. Same quality of meat for the picanha bife. Finally, as for the dessert, the dulce de leche mousse with citrus fruit is fresh to finish the meal. The cocktails are famous, starting with the unmissable "Montevideo", with passion and mate! Some will find the dishes a little expensive but quality always has a price. Comptoir Montevideo also has a small grocery store where you can purchase spices, coffee, dulce de lech and maté, a drink which contains a yerba leaf that contains a natural caffeine.
