Address with terrace facing the Louvre offering an inventive cuisine of the chef according to the seasons with Scandinavian notes.
Despite its longevity, Le Fumoir continues to be a trendy address not to say a popular one. The terrace facing the Louvre is obviously a must. The available media is a true asset than guests enjoy at the bar when they come up in the morning or between two appointments. Finally, the à la carte satisfies many. The chef produces inventive cuisine according to seasons by adding a few Scandinavian touches of his own. Every lunchtime, a fish dish is displayed as well as vegetarian dishes. You can feast as a starter a watercress cream soup or a pan-fried mackerel filet, for example. And brunch on Sunday!

I’m not a local but I’ve been here a few times over a few years and it’s always been good. The cocktails are excellent - extensive menu and if they can execute a good martini (simple but a failing of many places) then you know it’s good. Happy hour is excellent value with 10 euro cocktails between 5-8pm. Good location near Louvre. The food is also excellent - not cheap but value for money with lovely flavours. The service has always been good (not over the top American style but efficient where plates are cleaned quickly and next course brought promptly with bread and water replenished) and so if you’re in Paris and fancy good drinks and good food this isn’t just a tourist trap. Nice ambience at night with candles and low lighting as well. And never made to feel unwelcome as a single person not speaking French! The steak is excellent (sadly only served at lunch). My favourite place in Paris! The set menu means you can budget easily.
