GRAND HÔTEL DU PALAIS ROYAL * * * * *
Hotel inspired by the gardens of the Royal Palace with its greenery and rooms and suites with balcony and view on Paris
In an 18th century building, partially listed as a Historic Monument, the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal has been completely renovated by one of the great architects of the time, Pierre-Yves Rochon. He was very inspired by the environment, particularly the gardens of the Royal Palace. The greenery is present from the entrance and throughout the establishment, with floral or green notes scattered here and there. He also pays tribute to the Age of Enlightenment with plaster busts by Buffon, Voltaire, Rousseau and Diderot. Other highlights of the decoration: watercolours evoke the Comédie française, nearby, and 50 casts of the Louvre in the shape of a medallion, also nearby, are visible at the entrance of the restaurant Le Lulli. Finally, the luggage storage is hidden in a huge trunk inspired by the most beautiful leather goods brands, leaning against the superb classified staircase, all made of iron. The architect has designed a refined decoration, where classic luxury and modernity interact with style. Some of the 68 rooms and suites, which are available in lime green or powder pink, open onto a balcony and offer spectacular views of Paris and its monuments.
