HÔTEL CRAYON ROUGE * * * *
Hotel with a chic and friendly atmosphere where each suite has a name in keeping with its character, and wines to discover.
This little brother of the Crayon hotel, opened three years ago, is designed as a guest house with a retro chic and friendly atmosphere. You are in the spirit of a creative and unique hotel. Decoration juxtaposes second-hand furniture and vintage objects: small bedside sewing, Venetian or Louis Philippe mirror, Baumann chair, Sled of the years 1950, secretary desk of the Louis XVI era. The wallpaper with floral patterns or animated characters colours mingle with bright colors like green apple, pink candy, turquoise blue or still lemon yellow. Each suite has a name that corresponds well to its character. Women love the Tendre rosée with its large library and its dressing table topped with a large mirror. The Red épices suite is more masculine. The owners of the place, Philippe Vaurs and Christophe Sauvage, are passionate and they make you discover some beautiful wines from France in their wine bars.

Moved to a different room with some arguing, shower funnily DID work in this room despite my apparent inability to operate taps.
Rooms are small, even for Paris standards but was clean and L'occitane toiletries welcome. Only flat surface was a slanted desk: less welcome!
Sadly, went from bad to worse as we were woken at 4am with a fire alarm (again, I don't hold this against them), but what I DO, is that there were no staff in the building, merely a poster on the reception to call a number if there were issues. Me calling him was the first he heard of the fire alarm being activated in the building and he casually wandered over 10 mins later as all guests were outside.
No apology given. On checkout the following morning, reception couldn't even be bothered to apologise.
I believe a standard for a 4 star hotel is 24/7 manned reception. Miserable stay.
Les chambres sont magnifiques et le personnel très accueillant et souriant.
J'adore les petites lumières dans douches.
