Hotel in a building in front of the Louvre with rooms that combine historical charm and modern comfort.
The building of this hotel, belonging to the Spirit of France label, dates from the nineteenth century. It is located opposite the Louvre and the Tuileries Garden. Many ancient elements have been preserved as the time mosaic indicating Hotel Brighton under the arcades of Rivoli Street, the marble columns of the hall, the carved high reliefs, the ancient mirrors, the very high ceilings or the French-style windows. The rooms combine historical charm with modern comfort. All rooms feature a typical Parisian decoration with antique furniture as well as paintings and chandeliers of yesteryear. They all have a splendid view from the Louvre to the Ark of the Defense. The hotel also offers its guests electric bikes to discover Paris.

最寄りのメトロ駅は階段だけなので、旅行鞄を持った人はそれなりに気合が必要。
Room:
We entered the room and the temperature must of been over 80 F/ 26C we opened the windows to get in the air but as soon as you closed them it got stuffy and hot again. The room was clean and fairly large for city standards. There was a huge armoire to hang things and plenty of room to move around.
We asked them about the heating and they said they would send someone, we got back from our activity and it was still roasting hot and we all couldn’t sleep. The next day I sent an email and someone else came in and shut something off and it was better for the rest of the visit.
They had 2 small lamps on either side of the bed with no other outlets close so you had to unplug the lamps if you wanted to charge a phone or an iPad which then left no other lights in the room except the desk. So essentially you would have to charge all your items at the desk if you wanted free outlets.
The actual lamps you couldn’t turn off anyway there was no switch - you had to be unplugged regardless. They need overhead lights or a floor lamp to give more light in the room, it was overall very strange.
Bathroom:
The button on the toilet did not flush easily, you had to hold it down, at one point it just popped out of the slot. The Shower had good water pressure, but if someone uses the sink or flushes the toilet while you are in the shower the water gets incredibly scalding hot - this must be something to do with the older pipes but as a warning don't do it. My husband was shocked.
Breakfast:
They have a nice breakfast room with a decent array of items. We ordered room service one morning and it arrived on time without several of the items that we ordered that cost extra (no pancakes, no bacon). So after it arrived I had to go downstairs, alert the front desk and let them know so we wouldn't be charged. The woman at the front desk didn't seem surprised or apologize to me, she just yelled back in french to the person who brought up the food. Then I went to go to the breakfast room and dished up the items and brought them back upstairs. Not a huge problem but just very annoying when we took the time to do the order in advance and we were rushing to get out of the hotel to do something.
Bar/Lobby:
They have a daily tea in the afternoon with cake where guests sit and read. They also have a bar that is never staffed. I think they are doing themselves a disservice of losing money because I feel like many people would love an afternoon cocktail with tea.After dinner on our last night, I assumed since the bar is fully equipped and set up that someone may be there to serve drinks in the evening. It was about 7:45pm and no one was there. We asked at the front desk and they said someone would be right down. We waited for about 10 minutes and no one ever came. Then the person at the front desk looked confused as to why we were leaving the lobby, we said the bartender never came. No apology, it was just an "oh" and we went back to the room.
Other Thoughts:
On New Years Day evening nothing was open, so we got back from dinner and asked if they knew where we could get ice cream for our 5 year old. The place they suggested was closed so the person at the desk “gave us” a chocolate souffle." Then when we checked out we were charged 8 euros for it. If he would have told us what it was and how much I would have said no since my daughter had one bite and it went into the trash. I feel like this was something small and not something a 4 or 5 star hotel would do. It was also strange, as I was leaving they gave me my 8 euro bill to pay but didn't ask how the stay or anything was.
