GANTERIE AGNELLE
Located in the historic centre of the French glove factory in Saint-Junien, the Agnelle company satisfies the major haute couture houses such as Dior and Jean-Paul Gaultier and fashion designers with its leather glove models. Its know-how is recognized by the label Entreprise du patrimoine vivant.
History. It all began in the Cité du Cuir, in the Limousin region, with Joseph Pourrichou, who in 1937 created a glove-making workshop for his son Lucien. Josie Le Royer, his wife, will combine know-how and creativity by getting closer to Parisian luxury houses.
Sophie Grégoire, granddaughter of the founder and currently at the head of the company, made her way to the company in 1986. She learned all the ancestral gestures that transcend the special orders of luxury houses. In 1988, she created a workshop in the Philippines with craftsmen trained at the Saint-Julien workshop. Both receive the finest leathers from the French mégisseries. In 2001, Sophie narrowly bought the family business from the American giant Wells Lamont. She has since received many awards.
The products. Each glove is handcrafted and requires more than five hours of meticulous work. The House creates short and long gloves, in leather as well as lace, but also bags and cuffs.
Employment. About fifty employees.
