MAISON FABRE
Maison Fabre is a luxury glove factory. For four generations, it has created a collection of chic and varied gloves. It received the distinction from the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label.
History. The story began in Millau (Aveyron) in 1924. Etienne Fabre, master glove maker, founded his glove factory company. At the beginning, he cut the leather himself with his brother, and some stitcher took the works home. As early as 1928, the glove craftsman specialized in white gloves and the work was built around the 3 floors of his modest house where cutters and stitchers gradually took their place. In 1942, his son Denis and her beautiful daughter in law Rose joined the glove trade. This one created models for haute couture houses and showed great imagination by transforming this necessity accessory into a refined product. She moved the factory and set it up permanently in the heart of Millau. In the 1970's to 1990's, to anticipate the crisis, their son Louis launched a line of leather goods and saved the family business by working with many French department stores. Then, the great-grandson, Olivier, gave the brand a new lease of life by calling upon many creators in Paris to give them carte blanche on the realization of new models that definitively suit the fashion image of Maison Fabre. The latter was successful abroad and began new collaborations, like with Chantal Thomas in 2013.
