CHAMBRE DES NOTAIRES DE PARIS
In France there is a Chambre des notaires per department, except some interdepartmental such as Paris, bringing together notaries from Paris, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne, i. e. over 810 notaries and 5,000 employees, distributed in nearly 250 offices. The Chamber's strictly intra-professional missions are: the reception of new notaries, the control of studies, the conduct and the recall of those who have failed, the organization of training for notaries and their collaborators and the development of new techniques in the exercise of the profession. As far as you are concerned, if you are not notary but are involved in the notarial activity, certain activities of the House may interest you:
The House is able to facilitate dispute resolution between notaries and their clients.
The House has a communication to the public.
The House welcomes and informs the public of access to the law.
The House is working to improve notarial practices.
In addition, the House organizes auction houses for public auction that take place all the tuts in the auction room (these are voluntary sales rather than judicial sales by court decision). The Chamber also manages a database entitled "BIEN", augmented by the notaries of Ile-de-France, based on their sales acts. With more than 3 million real estate transactions since 1990, this base (paying) can provide valuable information. See: www.basebien.com
