Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a non-profit association composed of men and women for whom drugs have become a major problem and are recovery dependent, meeting regularly to help each other stay abstinents. Narcotic Anonymous recommends the complete abstinence of all drugs and caters to the dependent, people for whom drugs have become a major problem. The only condition required to become a NA member is the desire to stop eating. NA meetings are held at regular intervals (detailed list on the website). It is within these meetings that dependencies can help to stay abstinents and find themselves in an atmosphere conducive to recovery. NA effectiveness depends directly on this mutual assistance system. NA is not affiliated with any other organization. It has no connection with political or religious movements or with the forces of law and order. Depending on the type or types of drugs consumed, all depend on NA.
