JAZZ MAGAZINE – JAZZMAN
Frank Tenot and Daniel Filipacchi, producers of the famous show "For Those Who Love Jazz", bought and launched Jazz Magazine, affectionately named Jazzmag by its fans, in 1956. In 2009, as a result of the economic crisis, Jazz Magazine merged with another famous jazz magazine: Musician. We can safely say that, along with New York, Paris is the capital of jazz clubs, and France is the country of jazz festivals (Paris Jazz Festival, Marciac, Vienna, Juan-les-Pins, Nice, etc.). Similarly, more and more young people practise jazz, whether they sing or play an instrument. In short, there is a real passion for jazz in France. It's because it meets this taste that a magazine like Jazzmag has existed for over 60 years, for those who don't just listen to jazz on the radio or even in a club but want to know more. To this end, nothing replaces the royal press channel, whose sales can be used to pay for a hyper-sharp editorial team. This last word would define quite well Jazz Magazine: if you don't have a solid foundation in the history of jazz and even, if possible, live music, Jazz Magazine will not be able to do anything for you. Otherwise, it is a world of invention, rhythms, musical colors that will open to you… Note: on the magazine website, you can purchase the current numbers and order the old numbers.
