THE PASSAGE OF THE QUEEN OF HUNGARY
This passage, which was pierced around 1770, owes its name to an alias given to one of the sellers of the Halles, who worked there. Shortly before the Revolution, this young woman, named Julie Sinner, volunteered to give Queen Marie-Antoinette a petition of protest, signed by Les Halles workers. The Queen amusa from this daring young woman, to whom she found a resemblance with her mother, the Queen of Hungary. Back in the passage, the anecdote captivated both the colleagues of Julie Sinner and the nickname remained, and the place itself was named. This episode, which is ready to smile, unfortunately did not pass on to ill-fated Julie Sinner. It was rock a few years later, during the Revolution, for having "immediately" with the monarchy…
