FONDATION ABBÉ PIERRE – MISSION ÎLE-DE-FRANCE
The Abbé Pierre Foundation works to ensure that the poor have access to decent housing. It raises awareness, calls on public authorities and finances housing projects in France and abroad. Its action takes the form of family boarding houses, which offer friendly accommodation to people in great exclusion, or Solidarity Boutiques, which are daytime shelters with shower, laundry, cloakroom, locker room... In Paris, its Espace Solidarité Habitat advises and guides the public in housing difficulty. Volunteers with a variety of skills are therefore welcome in this association founded in 1988 by Henry Grouès, known as Abbé Pierre.
