Molte tombe di personaggi illustri ma anche di comuni cittadini francesi che ancora oggi vogliono essere sepolti qui.
Alcune tombe (come quelle di Rossini e di Jim Morrison) non contengono più le spoglie, ma sono comunque vistate da molti turisti.
Consigliabile prendere la mappa all'ingresso, per meglio orientarsi.
