Unusual restaurant in Paris offering Italian and Venetian gastronomy, seasonal dishes and meats.
This restaurant is above all an incredible place, installed in the former store of the engraver Stern, classified as a historical monument, in the heart of the passage des Panoramas. Cordovan leather and original woodwork have been enriched by a decor signed by Starck, who has found the right tone, between tradition and modernity, between stuffed wolves in the window and Hudson chairs. A rather unusual style that creates a unique atmosphere, half-dolce vita, half-boudoir. Behind this project are Massimiliano and Raffaele Alajmo, two Italian brothers who own a group of restaurants in Italy and abroad, including Le Calandre, a three-star Michelin restaurant in Padua.
At Caffè Stern you will find the quintessence of Italian cuisine in a menu that follows the rhythm of the seasons and reflects Massimiliano Alajmo's own style of cooking. The execution of the menu is entrusted, in a shorter bistro-style formula, to chef Denis Mattiuzzi, who was Massimiliano's student for over 10 years at the Calandre in Padua. You will travel in the real Italian and Venetian gastronomy with great classics such as Cappuccino 'alla bolognese', Tagliolini with dill, lobster, pigeon and pistachio sauce, Veal liver 'alla veneziana' and fried polenta, and seasonal dishes. For lunch, in addition to the a la carte menu, the chef will offer a different menu every day with a choice of four formulas: Primo or secondo of the day; Antipasto + primo or secondo of the day; Primo or secondo + dolce of the day; Antipasto + primo or secondo + dolce of the day.
In the dining room, with Eufemia Demuro, a dynamic and smiling team will make you discover a wide selection of wines from all regions of Italy and France. As an aperitif, don't forget to drink the emblematic Alajmo Spritz to be enjoyed with the Parma culaccia.Did you know? This review was written by our professional authors.
