A nice stop with a bucolic terrace, classic and charming, is worth a detour.

Le Tir Bouchon, "TB" for regulars, is a nice stopover if you stroll around rue Montorgueil. It's a small bistro worth a detour. terracotta tile flooring, white tablecloths and bucolic terrace, the place is both classic and charming. On the menu, you will have the pleasure to enjoy: snail casserole with garlic, rib steak with truffle butter, swordfish steak with pistou, duck parmentier with foie gras, amandine with pears, etc. The establishment has recently been equipped with a rôtisserie, a true asset! The dishes are beautiful, balanced and very gourmet. The wine cellar is also well equipped, the selection is original and efficient.

Website menu does resemble the in-house menu at all. Front of house indicated it changes all the time. Problem is I looked a few weeks back and it was the same. It seems possibly a new owner/management as we have been here a few times since 2007 and will not be back. - a pity as we loved the place.
We eventually left without ordering so can't comment on the food!

Super Service. On avait reservé une table et malheureusement en arrivant le restaurant était plus ou moins fermé car il n'y avait pas d'éléctricité. On a convenu de prendre un apéro et de revenir dans une demi heure. Et voilà: on a eu notre table, service super aimable et on a super bien mangé. A fortement recommender!!!

Serveuse souriante mais qui semblait peu expérimentée, maladroite dans ses propos et dans l’attitude un peu familière .. elle commence à prendre la commande et s’interrompt pour passer d’une table à une autre … ????…elle pose une bouteille de St Estephe sur une chaise avant de la déboucher et de nous dire : « j’adore le grincement du bouchon en liège …» mon plat mijoté agneau et sa sauce à l’ail était cuit et recuit avec aucun aperçu de la sauce de ce fait .. assez décevant dans son ensemble . Je ne pense pas y retourner .
