Bistro in Paris preparing many Southern dishes, some starters, and desserts.
This bistro, nestled just a stone's throw from the Place des Vosges, smells of Provence. To see this, you need to stand at the bar, admire the view and drink a pastis from one of the 80 available. The menu features a wide range of dishes from the South of France, but not exclusively. Seen on the slate one day in August: roast goat's cheese with rosemary, mussels au gratin and Saint-Nectaire toastade, farcis provençaux, red mullet fillets with tapenade, gambas flambéed with pastis and aniseed rice, lemon blancmange, chocolate mousse... A lovely terrace, quickly overrun on sunny days.

We started with the mussels and I had the steak and potatoes, and for dessert we had the mousse - all excellent. We asked our server for wine recommendations so I don’t remember what it was except that it was delicious.
The service was maybe my favourite part. He was very kind and very patient with my broken French. And every other staff member from the bartender to the host to just the person I asked to direct me to the bathroom were all warm and welcoming. We felt very well taken care of.
Overall it was a dazzling experience. From the food to the service to the atmosphere. I left totally buzzing.
