Bistro in Paris offering a revisited and seasonal cuisine with countryside flavours, a meat menu.

That red facade on Rue des Tournelles is a familiar sight. It's that of the Bistrot de l'Oulette run by Sylvain Tracard, a chef whose ambition is to introduce his customers to the best flavours of the Périgord countryside. From foie gras (confit here with spiced wine) to cassoulet to duck breast. Would you like some more? At the time of our visit, the menu also included beef chuck braised in red wine and, in a lighter version, a fillet of roast sea bass with lemon sauce, accompanied by a chanterelle risotto. Nice wine and Armagnac list.

I like this place. They have very good duck confit, I have been in Paris for 3 months and this is the first time I finally tried duck confit, I am satisfied. I don’t speak French but my friend does, I think the level of service would be better if you speak French. The restaurant manager had a better conversation with my friend but did not talk to me that much. But overall the food is good.

We ordered the escargot, fois Gras, duck breast and duck confit. Everything tasted ok, nothing special. Food was 3 stars but what significantly diminished the experience is the terrible service. Our server was awful. He forgot our drink order, then brought the wrong bottle of wine and then only poured one of our glasses and left. Terrible. I wouldn't return. You can find much better in Paris.

I love French cuisine and usually I am impressed with the food wheneve I am in France but cannot recommend this restaurant. Food is extremely overrated. The slow cooked salmon as a starter was really good but cannot tell the same for main courses. My beef was dipped into black paper, sooo spicy, I never had a beef that spicy and I was eating just black paper. My fiance ordered the lamb and it had the bad smell of lamb. I am sorry but I am really surprised by good reviews here. We booked this restaurant for christmas dinner and could not enjoy the food and to be honest restaurant’s vibe is very boring and quiet. And very expensive for what you get, small portions for main course!! But I have to say service is really good.
