Au Bougnat is super-cozy petite french restaurant hidden in the narrow meandering streets of "Île de la Cité". Despite its prominent location.. just a few steps from the gothic towers of Notre Dame.. the prices are not out of proportion at all. They are open from 9 am what makes it excellent choice for some good morning coffee. Design is beautifully old-fashioned and very Parisian. I really admired an ancient cellar lift right in the middle of the front bar :-)

Very nice surprise! When we were there it looked like we were the only tourists, seems like a hidden gem for the local people.
The best onion soup we had while in Paris, without any doubt! Very tasty food, the service was amazing and very friendly!

Menjar tradicional prop de Notre-Dame. Carta curta però amb alguns plats fora de carta. La sopa de ceba molt bona (i amb el fred que feia va entrar molt bé!), el foie casolà també estava molt bé, el beuf bourgingon es desfeia i també vam menjar una pasta de full amb carbassa i crema de formatge que ens va deixar amb ganes de sucari més pa. Local petit i acollidor amb un servei atent i correcta.

The food was mid, one of our party got the lamb and it was as tough as leather, the duck was mid. The noodles were great tho!

Attrape touristes. Très calme, voire trop car vide.
Plats de qualité très moyenne : soupe de légumes hyper salée, foie gras maison très ordinaire, croustade pas feuilletée du tout, bière en bouteille chaude.
Le pire fut que le plat a été servi alors que l’entrée n’était finie… du coup le plat est reparti mais est resté sur un coin de table : donc plat revenu froid !
Enfin, malgré une demande simple d’avoir juste un steak haché au lieu du burger servi à la carte (la serveuse nous avait prévenu que le prix serait celui du burger mais possible), le chef refuse de faire ce petit effort… pourquoi ?
Bref fuyez !!!

This French restaurant is in a typical setting by the Cathedral. Old style building taking you back to 1800s. If you’re in this area in Paris you shouldn’t miss this place.

Un très bon bougnat, excellent accueil et excellent service. Ambiance estaminet de village au cœur de Paris, petite surprise, il cache un restaurant, il invite vraiment à la découverte.

This place looked amazing on entry. Lovely setting. The service was on point.
I got the pig cheeks in gravy with baby potatoes. It was tasty and passable. It was served with bread which was nice.
My partner ordered the burger and chips. She ordered her burger medium well. It came out rare. The chips were overdone. They must have got the chips and burger mixed up?
The waitress was very attentive and great.

Top top top Service, super freundlich und charmant zu uns und den Enkelinnen.
Tapas (Photo) waren gut, Burger hätte ich gerne etwas weniger bitter (Sauce) gehabt.

Trotzdem stimmte für uns der Abend.

Great find. Romantic style with authentic French food. Great choice, great value too in 'plage du jour' however we did our own and went for the escargot, veal casserole, seabass- which was succulent and divine. Had the vine de Chen.. fermented wine aperitif that worked well with the rich snail sauce. Friendly French relaxed service too.

Absolutely delicious Prawns with risoto.. Highly recommend. Quite place even when you are sitting outside. Service very nice and fast. Very good prices.

Sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant mit leckeren Essen und sehr freundlicher Bedienung die zum Teil sehr gut englisch sprechen und verstehen so das wir keine verständigungsprobleme hatten! Ich persönlich hatte die Schnecken als Vorspeise. Meiner Meinung nach einfach extrem gut vom Geschmack und auch der Burger sehr schön auf den Punkt gegrillt wie er bestellt wurde. Würde jederzeit wieder hin gehen.

Food was okay, too expensive for the quality. Waitress gave wrong plates to people and the constant sound scape of hard rock from the kitchen killed any possible vibe.

La cuisine est uniquement cococter à base de produits frais et tout est vraiment délicieux.
L'accueil est très personnel et intelligent. Vraiment à recommander.
