Well-decorated hotel in the Marais where the rooms are refined, pleasant and comfortable

This hotel that blends history and hospitality is set at the center of the Marais. The place is a faithful reconstitution of an 18th-century building, modeled on the house in which the insolent and famous Mariage de Figaro's author, Beaumarchais would have been able to live (he grew up in this street). The decoration was designed by the owner, Alain Bigeard who researched documents on the era: walls of embroidery according to the originals, Burgundy stone floor, antique furniture, chandeliers and crystal chandeliers. The entrance hall looks like a musical cabinet with a 1792 piano forte, a harp, a card table and a Louis XVI-style fireplace. The rooms are refined, very pleasant and very comfortable. The bathrooms are made with earthenware and inspired by Rouen and Nevers models. The welcome is attentive and the hotel is ideal for those who wish to travel back in time and revive the spirit of Enlightenment.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I stayed at the front-view room. The best thing I like is that they can bring breakfast to your room with no extra cost. The breakfast itself was 13 euro. I got to sit at the balcony almost every morning and had breakfast while watching Paris. I felt like I did not want to check out. Not many hotels make me feel this way. I developed an emotional attachment to it. I really recommend paying more to stay at the front-view room for this reason if one can afford more. The staff was very attentive, professional, courteous, well-mannered, helpful and welcoming. I felt well-taken care of. Also, all my emails prior to the stay were responded within the next day when I reached out to them. The lobby was charming with a lot of character and tastefully decorated. The hotel rooms are charming too. The location is very convenient and safe. I also like that their room rates are fixed and do not fluctuate. The rates are also reasonable for Paris standard for what it has to offer. The rooms are very clean also with sufficient electrical and also USB outlets. I had an enjoyable 9-night stay there. I will definitely consider staying at this hotel again for my future visit.

A friend who lives nearby recommended this hotel to me. I travel to Paris often for work, and prefer to be close to the metro 1 line. This petit hotel offers a great location, right off the Rue de Rivoli close to the Saint-Paul metro station in the Marais. The staff are also incredibly friendly, from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast server. If you like a frozen-in-time Parisian hotel vibe—staying in a place that looks like hasn’t been updated in a century and you’re traveling on a budget—this place is for you. The good points stop there for me. The hotel has tiny rooms that can only hold a little makeup table (no desk), an old uncomfortable bed, a tub with no shower curtain, and a dated bathroom with a vacuum-tube-style hairdryer that is almost useless. The water is hot though. The breakfast pastries are delicious, but the hard-boiled eggs were undercooked, so the shell was difficult to remove, and the yolks were runny. We gave up, and if we’d have paid addition to the fact that breakfast was not included, we would have enjoyed our pastries around the corner at one of the many cafés for a fraction of the price that the hotel is charging for breakfast in the tiny basement (39 euros!). I assume all of these reasons are why this hotel is cheaper than the nearby Hotel Caron, which I stayed at in January, which has more modern amenities and larger rooms, for about the same price. We moved to the Hotel Victorie & Germain after two nights, since this place was sold out, and we are so glad we changed hotels. The Saint-Germain hotel was more expensive, but the rooms were bigger, renovated, and more luxurious with a nice shower and super-comfortable bed with quality linens and pillows. I doubt I’ll ever come back to Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais, and I’d only recommend this hotel to someone looking for a quaint, tiny, vintage room on a budget in the Marais. And yes — 200 euros a night is on the cheaper side in Paris these days.

Cute French boutique vibe: You can see the bright blue building when you walk up close. It has incredibly comfortable, vintage room, helpful staff, and a good location. It's a bit strange that when I return late at night, the door is locked. You have to wait for the staff to come back, or sometimes he's napping in the lobby chair.
